Our daughter loves animals. Mainly reading about them, in real life she has a healthy fear. So, what better way to learn about some atypical animals then reading Larry Potty's Animal Rhymes? We can’t think of one! Come join Larry Potty as he smells, feels, finds, and RUNS from some common and not so common animals in our world.

The rhyming nature of this book has the twisted quality of Shel Silverstein with the upbeat pace of Dr. Seuss. The colors and detailed artwork should drive any child to keep turning the pages, even if the creatures do make you feel a little slimy. Overall a great read, especially if you’re looking for a fun and fast rhyme before bedtime. This amusing and educational story is suitable for children in the age range 4 to 7…and did we mention it's intended to be the first in a series of four??

Author David J Mackay (aka Larry Potty) lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. He loves to write amusing children's poems about animals and enjoys reciting them to young children. Larry has performed his poems to sell out audiences at the world-famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Illustrator Alex Pass is a professional graphics designer who works in Dundee, Scotland. Alex's often humorous illustrations would enhance any publication. He was attracted to illustrating Larry's poems as he himself has two young children.
