We have been having some CRAZY weather here in Georgia, with thunderstorms every other night at least for most of the summer! SO how can we explain to our little ones what that rumbling, grumbling sound is outside their window? Luckily, author Paul Deanno has us covered with his picture book Wow! Weather!

Did you know a cloud weights as much as 100 elephants? Or that lightning strikes each MILLIONS of times every day? How about why Alaska has never been hit by a hurricane? Paul manages to teach you al of this and much much more through an easy to read rhyming structure. We would recommend this book to ANY child from birth through elementary school. How can it cover such a wide age group? Because the words are so rhythmic, the pictures are colorful and engaging, and the facts help you understand just how amazing weather can be. No wonder it’s called Wow! Weather!

So how does author Paul Deanno know so much about weather? Because he IS weather! Paul has won five Emmy awards working as a broadcast meteorologist in some of the largest television markets in the country.  Paul is also the first meteorologist to do the weather on all three network morning newscasts:  The Today Show (NBC), Good Morning America (ABC), and CBS This Morning. Toby Mikle makes this wealth of knowledge come to life! He has been illustrating children’s books for the past 16 years.  Toby has illustrated more than 300 books to date.
